Objectives of B.Sc Nursing

• To train students in generalistic nursing practices focusing on wellness, disease management, and end-of-life care.
• To develop nurses who are critically thinking, empathetic, well-disciplined, and assertive to respond to healthcare challenges.
• To empower students to make autonomous decisions in clinical settings and uphold patient rights.
• To promote evidence-based practice and nursing research for improving healthcare quality and safety.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must be at least 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
• No maximum age limit for admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) program.
• Candidates must be medically fit and may be asked to submit a medical fitness certificate.
• Married candidates are eligible for admission.
• Colour blind candidates are eligible provided they use corrective lenses or spectacles.
• Admissions are conducted once every academic year.

Minimum Educational Qualification

• Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects.
• Minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined, with a pass in English.
• Students from State Open Schools recognized by the State Government and NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) recognized by the Central Government with Science subjects and English are also eligible.
• English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for admission eligibility.
• Students appearing for the 10+2 examination in the current year can also apply, subject to meeting criteria at admission time.
