The Sir Issac Newton College of Nursing had the privilege of hosting a thought-provoking guest lecture on the mark of world mental health day by Dr. Saranya, Ph.D., a distinguished Research Associate from the Central University of Thiruvarur. The session, titled “Positive Mental Health for Youth,” aimed to enlighten nursing students on the importance of mental well-being in young populations and equip them with strategies to foster resilience and emotional strength. Dr.Raji.G, Principal greeted the guest and the students by her warm welcome address.
Dr. Saranya began by emphasizing the growing mental health challenges faced by youth today, including stress, anxiety, and social isolation. She highlighted the role of educational institutions and healthcare professionals in creating supportive environments. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof.F. Jagatha Sinthya Mary, Vice- principal appreciating Dr. Saranya’s valuable insights and her commitment to youth empowerment.
